Instead of pretending to be too busy on the phone, you can now avoid an unwanted conversation with your Uber driver altogether, by selecting a new feature – Quiet Mode.
In an attempt to further enhance its customer service, Uber has developed 7 new in-app features, including Quiet Mode. The features have reportedly been doled out to improve the quality of Uber’s higher-end, luxury services: Uber Black and Uber Black SUV. According to Aydin Ghajar, Senior Product Manager, Uber, the brand has taken heed to Uber Black and Uber Black SUV riders feedback, “Uber Black and Uber Black SUV riders told us they wanted high-quality service and premium comfort,” and introduced the following premium features:
• Quiet Mode: This revolutionary feature will enable you to let the driver know beforehand that you prefer a silent ride and would not like to be bothered during your journey. However, if you’re in the mood to chat, there’s an option for that too.
• Help with Luggage: This option will let your driver know that you need some help with your luggage before he pops the trunk open for you.
• Temperature Control: You will now be able to communicate your optimal temperature setting to the driver, before entering the vehicle.
• Extended Pickup Period: This feature will guarantee riders a little extra time to get to the car.
• Premium Support: A boon to the existing system, this feature will grant you an access to Uber’s premium phone support with live agents.
• Professionalism: The feature aims to display everything you need to know about your licensed driver after you’ve booked a cab.
• Consistent Vehicle Quality: It aims to ensure that customers receive the same kinds of rides, every time, with consistent vehicle model, makes, interiors, and exteriors.
These premium features are already available in the US, as of today, and will be made available in other locations, including India, soon.
