Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith can still be traded now that the trade is complete.
They cannot be traded alongside other Nets, but they can be packaged individually with picks. – 6:01 PM

The #Nets CAN do a deal for Trent, VanVleet, Siakam, OG… I don’t know why they would though. One of the biggest challenges facing them going forward is secondary creation. You can’t trust Ben Simmons to be part of the solution at all. I’d be interested in them pursuing DeRozan. – 4:48 PM

I imagine the non-Nets teams that are interested in Fred VanVleet are getting their offers in now as well. This is the moment for Toronto to maximize its leverage if it plans to move him. An artificial (if imprecise) deadline still creates urgency. – 4:46 PM

After trading Kyrie Irving for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith, the Nets can put together elite defensive lineups, and are just behind the Celtics and Bucks in the East.

About this time last night, Spencer Dinwiddie discussed how he handles the uncertainty of NBA trade season, and his candid answer ended with a mini-monologue about Dorian Finney-Smith’s well-earned respect.
Ironic and fitting they head to Brooklyn together in a superstar trade. pic.twitter.com/I4aSplRge7 – 1:03 AM

I think what we’re learning from some of the other leaked Kyrie offers is that the Nets just really, really valued Dorian Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie.
Personally I’m probably a bit lower on them (though they’re both good players!) – 10:13 PM

Kinda thinking about Fred VanVleet as a Mavs target with their remaining picks.
Their backcourt would be tiny and Luka would have to defend forwards, but he’s the only guy out there with a track record defending Curry, he’s a great shooter and having tertiary ball-handling helps – 7:54 PM

Clippers – who had been linked to Lowry, Conley, VanVleet in multiple reports – now latest team to pursue Kyrie, per Woj. Perhaps Heat should/could convince themselves that their culture could somehow make Kyrie conform. But Lowry’s injury hurts if Heat decides to pursue Kyrie. – 8:27 PM

More on this storyline
The Raptors have shown interest in Spencer Dinwiddie in the past, sources said, and the concept of moving the draft capital plus the combo guard to Toronto for Fred VanVleet became a popular idea among league executives by Sunday night. But sources said the Nets do not intend to move Dinwiddie, although Brooklyn and Toronto remain engaged in trade conversation as Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET trade deadline looms. -via Yahoo! Sports / February 6, 2023
If Dinwiddie does get moved elsewhere, the Clippers have valued the combo guard dating back to last season’s trade deadline as well, sources said, and Los Angeles remains in the hunt for point guard reinforcements after checking with Brooklyn about the viability of landing Irving. There was, however, at least an interesting notion that several front offices around the league believed word of the Clippers’ bidding for Irving was some form of smokescreen. -via Yahoo! Sports / February 6, 2023
Adrian Wojnarowski: ESPN Sources: Nets-Mavs trade still hasn’t been made official with league office because Nets are evaluating opportunities to expand deal w/ a third team. Teams are expected to make two-way deal official in next couple of hours – unless Nets find something bigger to fold into it. -via Twitter @wojespn / February 6, 2023
With that in mind, multiple sources told Action Network there’s real interest from the Magic in Raptors point guard Fred VanVleet. Of all the Raptors’ assets, VanVleet is thought to be the most available — he’s seeking a new long-term deal and nearing 30 years old with a lot of miles on him. -via Action Network / February 6, 2023
There remains hefty skepticism among league personnel that the Raptors will actually move All-Star forward Pascal Siakam this week despite interest from the Nets and other teams, sources said. Talented forward O.G. Anunoby has been the name that rival executives have monitored the most outside of VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr., and between Finney-Smith and Royce O’Neale, the Nets have clearly targeted two-way wings as reinforcements around Durant dating back to last summer. -via Yahoo! Sports / February 6, 2023
