Tyler Herro: 'My goal this year is to get my name untouchable'
There’s also another item on Herro’s list of goals this season. “Honestly, my goal this year is to get my name untouchable. That’s my goal,” Herro said. “At the end of this season, they won’t want to trade me. That’s my goal.” Herro added that he never requested a trade during this summer’s Lillard saga because “[the Heat] told me it wasn’t going to happen.”

I asked Tyler Herro earlier who & what he wants to prove this season:
“To myself really. Playoff stuff, I really just want to be able to compete and show my stuff in the playoffs.”
“Another leap that I took from my 2nd to my 3rd year, I want to take from my 4th to my 5th year.” – 6:48 PM

Talked to Tyler Herro today about this upcoming season, but also about the combo with Bam Adebayo:
“I think this year will be the most dynamic, versatile, efficient we’ve been in our careers together.” pic.twitter.com/j7hzGayoHx – 12:32 PM

Yes, we’ll wait to see who the Heat starts at point guard on opening night. But let’s be real, Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo are going to do most of the ball-handling. – 5:08 PM

Asked Erik Spoelstra earlier about what he’s seen from Tyler Herro in camp.
“He’s been on. There’s no off button on him this week, and that’s at both ends of the court.” pic.twitter.com/p8PB4fnArp – 4:23 PM

Heat is using Lowry, Richardson and Dru Smith at point guard, @Anthony_Chiang notes here. So that’s your PG trio for this season, barring a trade. Obviously, Jimmy, Bam will do a lot of ball-handling, and Herro will do that in his SG role: miamiherald.com/sports/nba/mia… – 3:23 PM

More on this storyline
“I’m not too sure,” Herro said when asked why he feels he’s become such a polarizing player. “If you look around the league, I’m right there with every young guy that they say is the next thing or whatever it is. As I get older, I don’t even pay attention to that [expletive]. I know my value, I know I’m one of them ones and I don’t need to say it. I’ll show you.” -via Miami Herald / October 7, 2023
After Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks a few weeks ago, Herro said he spoke to Spoelstra and Heat president Pat Riley. Herro received the clarity he was looking for from those conversations. “It’s the process of me coming back and being open to this,” Herro said. “I’m happy I’m here, I’m grateful I’m here. I understand it’s a business.” -via Miami Herald / October 7, 2023
Brady Hawk: Was talking with Tyler Herro today about his offensive plan: “Being able to score in every situation really. Off the catch, off the dribble, floaters, handoffs, PnR’s. I can literally do anything on that end of the floor. Just trying to be as efficient as possible with that.” -via Twitter @BradyHawk305 / October 7, 2023
