Cade Cunningham on Pistons: 'We're bad'
“We got to be realistic about the situation,” Cade Cunningham, whose 18-point performance was one of the very few positives in the 142-113 loss to the Toronto Raptors. “It’s hard to just be like, ‘We’re good, we’re good,’ you know what I’m saying? Because we’re bad. We have to address that. We have to address what we’re not good at. Address it with not only our words but on the court, in the huddles.”

I asked Cade Cunningham — who, along with Stewart, have been trying to keep the group together amid this losing streak — how the message, approach has to change at this point with 11 straight losses. His response: pic.twitter.com/H5hW4ZnJNh – 6:49 PM

HALFTIME: Raptors 69, Pistons 45.
Cade has been really good on offense: 15 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and just 1 turnover.
The defense is better with Stewart on the floor. No shocker.
Everything else has been abysmal. – 5:04 PM

Surprised Cade went for the lob to Stew there, with other bodies in the paint. Pistons down 18 at the 7:26 mark. This has been their least-competitive game of the season so far – 4:48 PM

End of 1: Raptors 32, Pistons 20. Pistons turned the ball over twice in the final 1:30, leading to a transition 3 and dunk for Achiuwa. Bench couldn’t maintain momentum.

Cade’s jumper is falling early. He’s got unlucky with some shots at the rim. Looks like he wanted a foul on one or two of them.
Either way, he’s looked good to begin this game. – 4:27 PM

Monty on not having Killian today: “He’s been a guy that’s set the table for us a number of times. He and Cade have played off of each other a little bit, not as much as I thought they would … I was thinking about moving him to the second unit to set the table with AB and Sass.” – 2:35 PM

More on this storyline
Mike Curtis: Cade after 11 straight losses: “We gotta be realistic after the situation. It’s hard to be like, ‘Oh we’re good, we’re good,’ because we’re bad. We gotta address that. We gotta know what we’re not good at & address it not only with our words in the locker room, but on the court.” -via Twitter @MikeACurtis2 / November 19, 2023

James Edwards III: Williams on Cunningham’s super-high usage: “The injuries have certainly contributed to it, but Cade is a guy who can handle that load. As we get guys back, I’d imagine that usage late will come down some just because we’ll have more guys who can handle the ball.” -via Twitter @JLEdwardsIII / November 12, 2023
