Little reminder for DRose Stans … Brunson has no MVP and is still an easier player to put in the HOF today than DRose with his MVP*. Facts! It’s based on your basketball career in total, and Brunson’s is better.
*LeBron was the real MVP – 8:26 PM

More on this storyline
Rich Paul on LeBron James: Obviously he was the first athlete, the first NBA player to kind of quote, unquote, I’m gonna do what I want to do. And I don’t think people necessarily like that because in sports we’re so used to having the mindset of, oh, you should do what this other person did because this other person was the star and this other person did this like this, and so you should do that like that in sports. But imagine if we did that in science. We wouldn’t have a lot of the cures and the tools to heal and do different things that we do just in life. And so I think it’s okay to allow somebody to be who they are. I get it. And I’m not saying that biasedly, because I’m LeBron’s biggest critic, by the way. When I have an issue, especially on the basketball court, I go get in front of him and we talk about it. -via Twitter @SiriusXMNBA / April 29, 2024
Rich Paul: I think we definitely have less years with LJ than we’ve already been able to enjoy. But I think there’s a world in which, you know, look, the guy has committed more than half of his life to the game of basketball. I think he’s treated it with the utmost respect and has been someone to give back to the game. I think we put the pressures on him differently than we put on other people. And the expectation, ever since he was 18 years old, obviously I was there, you know, there was no development for him, there was no patience, there was no any of that. And he still was able to position himself and succeed. -via Twitter @SiriusXMNBA / April 29, 2024
As expected, the older the player was, the more likely he was to vote for Jordan as the greatest NBA player of all time. Jordan dominated the vote amongst players over 30 years old, born before 1995, and in the 25-29 range born in the second half of the 1990s. King James was crowned the greatest NBA player among players born in the 2000s, one of the few blocks of voters where he triumphed. -via HoopsHype / April 29, 2024
Michael Jordan prevails over LeBron James as the NBA’s greatest player of all time in our HoopsHype poll, but it’s not a landslide win. In our poll, the split is 49-37 in favor of Jordan over James. Conversely, The Athletic’s poll had 45.9 percent for Jordan and 42.1 percent for James. Lakers legend Kobe Bryant also received a decent share of the vote with nine percent. Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Kevin Durant, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony each received one vote. -via HoopsHype / April 29, 2024
James, a better passer and more physically suited to defend small-ball centers than Jordan, resonated more with point guards and narrowly lost among centers who voted in our poll. Meanwhile, Jordan garnered the most votes among shooting guards, small forwards, and power forwards. -via HoopsHype / April 29, 2024
