For one team, the Kings, their contest (Thursday, versus the Avs) would all but bury their hopes to play on into next week. For the other, the Ducks their contest (on Friday, versus the Oilers) would give them hope that they could hang with what many perceive to be a more offensively gifted squad.

Los Angeles and Anaheim, CA--The Kings and Ducks are finishing their regular seasons on the road as the week goes on, so this weekend was the time for one last look at what they have going into the playoffs, assuming that that’s where they’re going.
Well, the West is at it again. Thursday night, Vancouver was in LA while down the road, Anaheim had a half-hour head start in their game versus the Sharks. And the Golden Knights were dispatching the Kraken while the Mammoth were taking care of the Predators.
How does the Western Conference do it? Do what? Keep you watching and guessing as to who’s going to play a three-point game next. Saturday evening, they were back at it, with the Kings taking on Toronto as SoCal fans cruised down to Anaheim for a 7pm start of the Ducks and Calgary. The Kings and Leafs had begun at the unheard-of time of 4pm.
