Officially titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, the new series follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities — and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.
David Henrie will be reprising his role as Justin Russo as a series regular and executive producer, while Selena will also executive produce and reprise her role as Alex Russo in a guest star capacity. She is set to appear in the first episode of the series.
As previously announced, Janice LeAnn Brown will lead the series as Billie, with Mimi Gianopulos as Justin’s wife Giada Russo, and playing his children are Alkaio Thiele as Roman Russo and Max Matenko as Milo Russo.
It was just announced that newcomer Taylor Cora will join as a series regular, playing Winter, Billie’s bubbly, quirky and oversharing best friend.
The same day this news was announced, David took to social media to share a selfie with two of his young co-stars and reveal that it was the first day back to work after filming the pilot!
“Day 1 let’s make some more ????!!! Can’t wait for you to see what we’re up to! #Wizards #WizardsOfWaverlyPlace #WOWP #ComingSoon,” he captioned the photo, which you can see below.
