City of OKC working to repair ruptured water main

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — Oklahoma City crews are now working to fix a water main break after News 4 brought it to their attention.
For two months, it has been gushing water into a field west of the Broadway Extension.
Water has been consistently flowing in the field behind W Facial Aesthetics. Staff thought the creek was just overflowing until we took a closer look.
A water main break that has been broken for months went unseen and unnoticed until the News 4 team took a closer look in the field between NW 104th St. and NW 97th St.
We alerted the City of OKC to a possible water main break, seeing the constant gushing water.
On Wednesday, city crews went out to assess the area and determined that an eight inch water main ruptured. Crews isolated the main and shut the water off.
Jasmine Morris with the City of OKC confirmed there were zero customers impacted by the break and subsequent shut-out, but it's not an easy fix.
"Due to our prioritization process, which takes into account the number of customers being impacted by a leak/break, we likely will not get to this repair for some time (2+ weeks or more)," Morris said.
We asked how much water was lost over the course of these last few months, but they did not know the amount yet.
They did go on to say thank you to News 4 for finding this break and bringing it to their attention.
