Two teens arrested in connection with Thursday night Lafayette shooting
The two teens, both 16-year-old boys, were arrested and charged for illegal discharge of firearms, aggressive criminal damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, according to Lafayette Police.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Two teenagers were arrested Thursday evening after police reported shots fired, authorities said.
The two teens, both 16-year-old boys, were arrested and charged for illegal discharge of firearms, aggressive criminal damage to property and illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, according to Lafayette Police.
Authorities said officers responded at 6:11 p.m. to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Lucy Street. Police said one of the teens saw a car coming toward him and then started shooting, and the other minor had a firearm on him.
Not long after officers arrived on the scene they saw an individual running and were able to arrest him in the 300 block of Sonny Street. Firearms were recovered, police said.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident, but one victim claimed property damage.
Booking or bond details were not released.
