Hammond man dies after crash in Holden, Louisiana State Police investigating
HOLDEN, La. (BRPROUD) — Louisiana State Police are investigating a deadly multi-vehicle crash in Livingston Parish.
Police said on Wednesday evening troopers responded to a crash on I-12 East in Holden.
A Ram pickup truck, driven by Rodney Thompson, 55, was heading east followed by a Dodge Challenger driven by Edward Barker, 53, of Hammond before Thompson lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadway and entered the median. Investigators said the truck re-entered the roadway and was hit by Barker. As a result, Barker's car spun out across the eastbound lanes and was hit by a tractor-trailer, LSP said.
According to police, Barker was taken to a hospital with severe injuries where he died of his injuries.
Toxicology reports were taken from all drivers and will be submitted for analysis.
