'It didn't stand a chance with this': Wind storm in Indian Bayou destroys barn

(KLFY)-- People in Indian Bayou are speaking out after a powerful wind storm this morning damaged their property.
There was a ton of debris covering the ground from the wind damage. Homeowner, Lori Foreman, said she heard a loud noise of what sounded like a freight train.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm was described as a microburst, which produces wind speeds of 75 to 80 miles per hour. Foreman said everything happened so fast that the family didn't have enough time to get out of the storm.
"It was so fast that I didn't even think about evacuating or looking to find a safe spot," Foreman said. "If that would have hit us, we would all be gone."
During the storm, Foreman's stepdaughter, Vicky Sullivan, was arriving home. She said she was dodging falling limbs and branches while trying to get inside.
"They had a limb, big old tree down at the driveway and finally I saw them at the door and I just came in and got shelter," Sullivan said. "It was bad."
The barn has been apart of Foreman's family for years. And while it stood strong through many weather events, Foreman said it didn't survive this one.
"It's been there for years, but its made it through multiple hurricanes," Foreman said. "It didn't stand a chance with this".
Sullivan said she is grateful that her and family are still alive.
"I never knew that I was gonna come into that, so I'm just thankful that everybody's okay," Sullivan said.
