The Lost Bayou Ramblers receive their third Grammy nomination
Our 2024 Grammy previews continue, this time featuring the Lost Bayou Ramblers.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- Our 2024 Grammy previews continue, this time featuring the Lost Bayou Ramblers.
We caught up with Grammy award winning accordion player Andre Michot leading up to this years event. The Lost Bayou Ramblers, formed by brothers Andre and Louis Michot, are nominated now for their third Grammy award.
The Lost Bayou Ramblers actually won their first Grammy in the "Regional Roots" category back in 2018 with their album "Kalenda".
Grammy weekend is always a busy one for the Lafayette based Cajun band and it comes with some pretty cool moments and memories.
"You get there and it's one thing after the other, they have all the nomination parties, and then we're actually playing a thing for the Louisiana Tourism there. You never know who you're going to bump into, the first year we went we were behind Alicia Keys at the red carpet, that was pretty neat," said Michot.
The other local bands nominated in the regional roots category are Buckwheat Zydeco Junior and Dwayne Dopsie.
Also, we absolutely can not forget Lafayette's very own Grammy award winning singer and song writer Lauren Daigle who's nominated in categories this year as well.
