Firefighters put out Henderson kitchen fire
Several agencies were called to a home in Henderson to put out a kitchen fire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
HENDERSON, La. (KLFY) -- Several agencies were called to a home in Henderson to put out a kitchen fire Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Firefighters in Henderson were dispatched to a possible structure fire on Quail Run, where firefighters were advised of multiple calls reporting smoke coming from a residence.
Authorities said firefighters found a residential structure with visible smoke coming from the roofline. When firefighters made entry to the home they found an occupant attempting to extinguish some of the fire with a garden hose.
The fire had burned most of the kitchen and was beginning to spread into the attic area before it was extinguished. Firefighters said the fire was under control quickly and fire damage was limited to the immediate kitchen area.
Acadian Ambulance Services was summoned for the potential treatment of smoke inhalation of two residents. In addition to the St. Martin Parish Fire District, responding agencies included the Henderson Fire Dept., the Arnaudville Volunteer Fire Department, the Breaux Bridge Volunteer Fire Dept., the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office and the St. Martin Parish Emergency Dispatch Center.
