MAMOU, La. (KLFY) – A Port Barre woman is wanted by authorities after a stabbing on Mardi Gras day.
According to the Mamou Police Department, authorities are actively looking for Kelsey Rochelle Mallet, 25 of Port Barre. On Tuesday, during the Mardi Gras festivities, just before 5 p.m., Mallet allegedly stabbed someone twice in the chest and punctured one of their lungs. The victim was taken to a local hospital for surgery and is in stable condition. Mallet is being charged with attempted first degree murder.
