Eunice man convicted of attempted murder of 14-year-old
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) – The Eunice man arrested in California for a Eunice shooting in May of 2022 has been convicted.
According to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre, Xavier Watson was convicted of attempted second degree murder after an hour of deliberation by a St. Landry Parish jury.
The Eunice man was arrested in Oct. of 2022 in California as a suspect in the shooting of a 14-year-old. Watson was found in California and extradited back to Louisiana and booked into the Opelousas Jail.
The case wrapped in a single day of evidence. Watson’s sentencing will be on May 2 at 9 a.m.
