Emmy-winning Imagination Movers performing 18+ show in Lafayette
The Movers are set to play their second ever 18+ concert at the Warehouse 535 in Lafayette.
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Movers are set to play their second ever 18+ concert at the Warehouse 535 in Lafayette.
Created out of New Orleans by four friends, the Imagination Movers began as a television/music concept that was pitched to local PBS affiliates. They were able to build a sizable regional audience setting educational songs for kids to melodies and rhythms that adults also appreciate.
In 2008, the group started to be featured on a 22-minute show for Disney Channel's preschool programming block known as Playhouse Disney, and eventually airing on Playhouse Disney's replacement Disney Junior.
Following their television stint, the Movers began touring and playing live performances for various events and festivals. Over the years, the group has also released a number of new albums and music videos.
To pay homage to the Imagination Mover's original audience who are now much older, the group wants to begin performing new 18+ shows around the country. On March 2, the group's second ever 18+ show will be held at the Warehouse 535 in Lafayette.
Doors for the show open at 7p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m., which will feature Good Prblms, a group born out of the UL School of Music, and the Brewster Durbin All-Stars who will open. The event is general admission and tickets will be $20 at the door.
