Louisiana State Police: Subject of Scott officer-involved shooting had a knife
The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations has been requested by the Scott Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting in the 100 block of Angler Drive.
UPDATE, 3/4/24, 7:15 a.m.: According to State Police, the incident began when officers encountered a subject armed with a knife. In response, an officer attempted to utilize a Taser, but the deployment was ineffective. A second officer then fired his weapon, hitting the subject. The subject was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
ORIGINAL STORY: SCOTT, La. (KLFY) -- The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations has been requested by the Scott Police Department to investigate an officer-involved shooting in the 100 block of Angler Drive.
Officials said the incident occurred around 10:27 p.m. Saturday and investigators working to process the scene and gather further information.
One subject was shot and transported to a hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time. No officers were harmed during this incident. Additional details will be released when available.
