TOPEKA (KSNT) - Prairie Band Casino and Resort celebrated their 25th anniversary on Friday, Jan 20.
Prairie Band Casino and Resort held a celebration in the casino’s hotel lobby Friday afternoon with a cake cutting ceremony. The casino also celebrated the expansion that recently opened in November.
"I want to thank everybody for coming out today for our 25th anniversary," said John Tuckwin, Director of Marketing for Prairie Band Casino and Resort. "Just think, 25 years ago we would be standing in the parking lot. We would be standing next to a big metal building, full of slot machines, some cigarette smoke, but we have come a long way in those 25 years."
The new expansion at Prairie Band Casino and Resort features 74 new guest rooms including luxury two- and three-bay suites. They offer a full-service spa that includes a dry sauna, steam rooms, massage rooms and a hair and nail salon.
Additional features of the new wing include three Topgolf Swing Suite bays that offer food and drink services, a fitness center, arcade, indoor and outdoor pools, an outdoor patio with video screens for sporting events or movies, and additional meeting spaces.
The expansion of the property is part of the company’s strategy to add more entertainment options.
