New rustic breakfast restaurant First Watch to open soon in west Topeka
Ready or not, First Watch is coming soon to Topeka.
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new restaurant specializing in everything from breakfast to lunch is eyeing an opening date before the end of the year in west Topeka.
27 News spoke with First Watch spokesman Hunter Carpenter who says a new restaurant is in the works for 1801 SW Wanamaker Road with an estimated opening date coming by the end of 2024. The restaurant will have a rustic farmhouse feel to it along with elements of an urban loft.
Customers can expect to find food for breakfast, brunch and lunch here. Menu items include million-dollar bacon, kale tonic juice, lemon ricotta pancakes, avocado toast and more.
Hunter says the restaurant will employ 30 workers on a one-shift day, "No Night Shifts Ever," rotation to let employees enjoy time off. Once open, First Watch will accept orders from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day a week through delivery and dine-in services.
First Watch is new to the Capital City but not the state of Kansas. Since the opening of its first restaurant in Prairie Village more than 30 years ago, the restaurant chain has built up to ten more locations in Johnson and Douglas counties.
In addition to the Topeka restaurant, Carpenter says two others are also opening soon in Leawood (Fall 2024) and Lenexa (Early 2025). This brings the total number of First Watch restaurants to 13 across Kansas.
