AUSTIN (KXAN) — Thousands will pack downtown Austin Sunday morning for the 2024 Austin Marathon. As one of Austin's main events for the year, the marathon has previously drawn around 100,000 spectators and thousands of runners.
Runners will take off at Congress Avenue just north of Lady Bird Lake throughout the 7 a.m. hour Sunday. The marathon and half marathon start at 7 a.m., with 5K runners getting underway at 7:45 a.m.

Austin Marathon weather
The KXAN First Warning Weather team expects the weather to be gorgeous but cold in downtown Austin on Sunday morning.
Temperatures will be near freezing under sunny skies with a northerly wind of just 5-10 miles per hour. Sunny skies, dry air and cool temperatures continue through the entire race.
