Lecture on diet and the environment set for Los Gatos Library
The March 20 event is presented by Plant-Based Advocates.
Diet and the environment
The next lecture in an ongoing series from the Los Gatos Library and Plant-Based Advocates will bring residents the information they need to be more conscientious consumers. Monday, March 20 at 5 p.m., Factory Farming Awareness Coalition’s policy director Amy Halpern-Laff will walk participants through the ways diets—particularly those that rely on meat—affect the environment.
The free talk will take place at the Los Gatos Library, 100 Villa Ave.
CERT class signups
Beginning in May, the Town of Los Gatos’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will host a comprehensive class series—offered both in person and as a hybrid course—on disaster preparation and response. The series will offer 21 hours of instruction on topics like fire safety, search and rescue and medical care—all the things participants will need to get CERT certified. The course, designed for adults, is $35. To register, visit https://www.losgatosca.gov/128/CERT.
