PITTSBURG — A woman was arrested Thursday after the fatal stabbing of a man at an apartment, authorities said.
According to a statement posted to a police social media account, officers responded to Belmont Apartments, 1010 Power Ave., at 3:30 p.m., for a report of a domestic violence incident.
When officers arrived at one of the apartments, they found the man suffering from a stab wound to his chest after a fight with the woman. Officers provided care alongside Contra Costa County Fire Protection District firefighters, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman was detained for booking into county jail in Martinez. Police did not share her exact charges, citing an ongoing investigation.
The Belmont Apartments are adjacent to the site of Pittsburg’s other homicide this year: Abdul Raouf was fatally shot on March 22 at the E-Z Stop store at 1000 Power Ave.
