Sunnyvale woman dies in solo vehicle crash in Mountain View
Following the vehicle crash, the 65-year-old woman reportedly from her injuries while being transported to the hospital.
A Sunnyvale woman died following a vehicle crash on Highway 101 in Mountain View, near the Ellis overcrossing, on Saturday morning.
Authorities were notified at 6:45 a.m. about the crash, which involved a white Nissan Rogue sport-utility vehicle and its 65-year-old driver.
“For unknown reasons she lost control” of the vehicle and ended up hitting the barrier, then the center divide, before finally crashing into a tree on the shoulder, according to CHP Officer Art Montiel.
The driver was treated by medics and was en route to the hospital when she reportedly died from her injuries.
Following the crash, the two right lanes of northbound 101 were closed until approximately 10:20 a.m.
