Robbers shoot elderly man in upscale San Francisco neighborhood: police
Victim taken to hospital with a gunshot wound not believed life threatening, police said.
A 71-year-old man was shot around midnight Friday in an upscale San Francisco neighborhood, police said.
Police had responded at about 12:25 a.m. to a report of a possible shooting at Fillmore and Filbert streets in the Marina District, and found the victim with a gunshot wound that did not appear life threatening, the San Francisco Police Department said.
The officers provided aid and called for medics, and the man was take to the hospital, police said.
“The victim was approached by two suspects who attempted to rob him, and then shot him,” San Francisco Police Sgt. Kathryn Winters said. “The suspects then fled the scene.”
