This new Bay Area pho shop reflects the explosive history of its hometown
Hercules has a new pho spot exploding with flavors, offering not just a bangin’ pho selection, but a build-your-own “bomb” noodle soup option. In case these puns didn’t make clear, Pho TNT is embracing the history of its hometown, Hercules, which was once a dynamite factory.

In case these puns didn’t make clear, Pho TNT is embracing the history of its hometown, Hercules, which was once home to a dynamite factory. (It isn’t the only new eatery in town to do this; Dynamite Donuts also recently opened in Hercules.)
The restaurant is owned by Hercules residents Maxine Luong and husband Anthony Luc, who are building on Luc’s family’s legacy, offering authentic Vietnamese food to the community. His parents own Cam Hong, a Vietnamese restaurant in El Sobrante.
Located in the former Anh’s Kitchen, the restaurant offers starters like spring rolls, beef carpaccio, papaya shrimp mango salad and fried fish cakes and chicken wings, plus a selection of pho options including brisket, oxtail, chicken, seafood and vegetable. Rice and vermicelli plates and banh mi sandwiches are also available, along with boba beverages and sodas.
Details: Open from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Tuesday at 844 Willow Ave. Suite A3 in Hercules.
