Martinez police seize mini arsenal of BB guns and butterfly knives in raid of home
Police arrested a Radcliffe Court resident who was on probation and not allowed to possess knives or airsoft guns.
MARTINEZ — Police here raided a home and seized a collection that would make Bart Simpson proud.
During the March 14 on a Radcliffe Court home, officers took at least four BB guns and a collection of butterfly knives, flip knives, and throwing knives, authorities said. They arrested the resident there on suspicion of violating the terms of his probation, which forbids the possession of such items.
It’s the man’s seventh arrest since late 2022.
Police conducted the operation after a neighbor called to report seeing the man firing a BB gun in his yard. Authorities say they’ve been to the home several times, including for reports that the man was threatening to harm himself or others.
His most recent arrest came in late February, when officers arrested him for allegedly having a concealed knife on the sidewalk outside his home, court records show.
