One dead, two injured in three overnight Columbus shootings
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – One person is dead and two others were injured after three separate overnight shootings in Columbus.
The first call occurred at 12:30 a.m. when police responded to reports of a shooting on East 10th Street near Krumm Park, in East Columbus. Police found a victim on East 10th and shell casings in the street right in front of the park.
The man was taken to an area hospital and listed in critical condition.
At around 1:15 a.m. police found two people at the scene in front of a restaurant near the intersection of East Livingston Avenue and Courtright Road in Eastmoor. One person was asking for help and the other was sitting inside of a car with gunshot wounds to his arm and back.
The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition and expected to survive his injuries. CPD does not yet know where the shooting originally took place, nor does it have any suspects at this time.
Officers then responded to reports of a shooting on Beechcroft Road and Forest Village Lane in Northland. The male shooting victim was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital and listed in critical condition, but he died a short time later.
Police said they are not actively looking for a suspect but did not say if anyone was in custody. They were also looking at a black RAM pickup truck that was partially off the road at the scene.
All three shootings are still under investigation. NBC4 will provide further updates as they become available.
