FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Tuesday Evening,
It has been a pretty gray day with above normal temps in the upper 60s to near 70. Tonight we will watch as a weak front will sag across our area, providing a bit of a focal point for a chance of showers and a few rumbles of thunder, as lows stay well above normal in the middle 50s.
Wednesday, the front will meander its way through our area with little luck to clear the state. This will keep rain chances on and off throughout the day, with slightly cooler, but still warmer than normal temps with highs in the middle 60s. A low will approach our area on Thursday and this will give us a bit of a warmup before the cold front arrives.
Thursday we will likely have our best chance of showers and storms, but the potential will depend on morning rain showers, and how cloudy we stay throughout the day on Thursday. If we can remain wet, and gray, the severe weather threat will likely be a lot more muted. However, as of right now, the Storm Prediction Center has us under a "slight risk" (level 2/5) risk of strong/severe storms late in the day. Highs on Thursday will be near 70.
The low will kick northeast of us Thursday night, dragging a cold front finally through, with windy conditions and rain still sticking around for Friday. Highs will only reach into the lower 50s on Friday with a kinda cool and raw April day. Skies should dry out Friday late into the weekend, with clearing skies for Saturday and highs in the lower 60s, about normal.
Sunday expect partly sunny skies, with clouds increasing throughout the day and highs in the lower 70s. Rain chances will return late Sunday evening into the overnight. It does appear the weak boundary will lift north on Monday with clouds left behind and highs in the lower 70s. We will see more sunshine on Tuesday with the boundary to our north, and highs again in the lower 70s.
