Looking forward to this game, as already mentioned it could make or break our season.

Cheers, Cokey. Wellens (gaw bless his little cotton brain) will have Saints well pumped up for this one. Hurrell popped his cork a week too early, but maybe we should expect some fireworks - though not the pyrotechnics that LSV is accustomed to!

Gannon is still very young (especially for a forward) and has had more than his share of knocks this year. Having the ability to rotate him will be valuable, tho we do seem well stocked in the back row I agree.
I also understand the need for a bit more punch there. I know he’s been out of position this year but I do think Martin offers that when in the back row. He has a nice offload too.

I’d be more skeptical of us signing another centre. I wouldn’t be surprised if Martin would just play there full time.
My issue with McDonnell, Gannon, Bentley, Donaldson is that they are all basically variations on the same skill set. Work hard, tackle well, reliable but not going to change the game. Having said that, maybe that is the plan. Trouble is, Nene has probably been our biggest line break threat, followed by Walters (leaving), Austin (gone), Newman (injuries). We don’t play a line breaking 9... Читать дальше...

He's on a 1 year deal which is arguably a bit strange given his age and how highly he's rated. Maybe he's thinking of wanting to make a breakthough next year, and rates Burgess so thinks he'll be in a very good position to do that, or at the end of the year to either get a decent contract or move on as a better player.
Assuming we have Tai and King as 1st choices then Wrench and Bruines will fight it out as back up centre.
And there's always Ratch if needs be (assuming he's back up hooker and general utility player). Читать дальше...

It won’t let me quote your message FGB. But I also remember Rohan saying there was nothing in the Frawley claims, multiple times. So your comment was pointless, Rohan never gives anything away, that’s the way he plays things.

We shouldn’t lose another game with how we’ve played since losing the semi final, (hull fc game excluded) never confident away at Leeds but I reckon we have more than enough especially looking at their squad. Should put 50 on Cas and we have Leigh’s number, but wouldn’t surprise me if they turned us over to stop us finishing top in the last game. We’re favourites for the league and GF double if we stay clear of any more injuries. Touch wood.

Well I spoke about Doolan some time back, he can’t be far away from a chance at first team level. As for this recent Centre signing is this confirming the end of Mata’utia

I guess he is here for squad cover, Tai, King?, Wrench, Bruines, I think the current Academy centres are still a little way of yet so I suppose he takes the spot of Minikin?

Just watched the Saints game back and we will give ourselves half a chance against Les Cats if we can dramatically cut down on our errors ,( forced & unforced ) . Looking back at it now it had a real impact on our chances of creating any kind of pressure on Saints as time and time again we came up with some howlers ,the Franco one in particular was a dagger to the heart ,gifting Makinson probably his easiest try of the season .At times we went toe to toe for long... We never saw him at his peak, because that was at Wests , when he was the best second rower in the NRL, a respected and revered player on both sides of the world, throughout the game. What we got though, in terms of leadership and captaincy can never be truly measured. A man who left nothing on the pitch and who gained his place among the truly great players, who have graced our famous shirt, right up there with Norton, Sullivan, Topliss and the like. We can truly say we have been blessed with some great players... Читать дальше...
Just wondering if anyone is around Leeds on Friday night & knows where we might be able to watch the St Helens v Leigh game.
I’ve asked on the Leeds board but it would be good if another Wiganer was about.
