Saints Snatch Win With Lomax Drop Goal
After their stunning comeback win against the Rhinos in round eight, the Huddersfield Giants set their sights on the champions St Helens as they travelled to the Totally Wicked Stadium for a Thursday evening encounter which could see them move level with three other teams in second place in the league table.
The Giants were the underdogs as Ian Watson’s side took on Paul Wellens troops with the bookies giving the visitors a ten point start on the handicap coupon. Читать дальше...

At least Hall solves the wing issue, gets us a QS and likely decent chunk of cap space.
Anything less than quality signings in 25 can't be blamed on cap/QS etc

Top and bottom of it is, we missed out on our number one target, although I’d like to think it’s not totally dead in the water, and perhaps the old regime may have rushed into a bad appointment. I’m actually quietly content with going with Grix this year and playing the long game, waiting to see who is available by the end of the season. Yes, it might mean Myler plays the majority role in signing players, but is that a bad thing? Recruitment can’t be much worse! Think we need, as Take that’s album states is to show a little ‘Patience’. Читать дальше...

It's a tough one and no one other than the coaching staff could say with any real authority. My own take on him is that he's good but not special whereas both Nsemba and Walters have it in them to be special. They are a level above in terms of potential.
at the time he left he was behind established internationals in Faz and Bateman and future internationals in KPP and Smithies who are both ripping it up in the NRL now so it's understandable that he chose to leave when he did. It doesn't seem... Читать дальше...

It's a tough one is this as Widnes totally nullified us in the cup and we looked very short of attacking ideas with Jowitt and Lilley as halfbacks. If Johnson isn't available then I'd be reluctant to move Davies out of the stand off position as we need his direction. Peposhi and Arundal can cover second row if Myers is fit to come into the centres.
Injuries are going to have an impact here as we really could do with Scurr and Smith being available or we're really struggling given we're already without Lawrence... Читать дальше...

I don't actually see any young lads ready to step up into front row any time soon.
TNW looks more like a loose than outright prop to me, although could be proven wrong. He'll have to fill out a fair but more at his height.
Leo Aliyu is athletic but again not massive; Oladipupo has great size for his age but has loads of development in him still. Young Stelfox impressed me a couple of weeks ago but again he's years off.
Hudson could be good but... Читать дальше...

Play Handley on the side he's best on. For the role Hall is going to be asked to play, it doesn't matter which side he plays on.

It's a good post, and you're right to point out BM. I think the main criticism of BM was that we mostly player averagely throughout the season with our best playing group ever, and then turned it on when it came to the play-offs. We also played some dire rugby under BM, 2015 being the exception to both those points.
With Smith, we're playing dire rugby and not looking like we'll even make the play-offs.
I do slightly disagree with your post about Miller. Читать дальше...

Got to say that I've been impressed how Olly Russell has matured over a fair period watching Shudds on tv.He leads by example and certainly gets heavily involved.Looks a good player, and if we are signing him I'm happy with that! He's a good goal kicker as well.
