Bachelorette: Clare Crawley Says She Was Crushed By Dale’s Breakup Post
Fans are just getting used to the news that The Bachelorette couple Clare Crawley and Dale Moss have broken up, and it would seem that Clare is just getting used to it, too. New details have emerged that suggest this was not a standard Bachelor Nation, things-just-didn’t-work-out breakup. Instead, it was a rather one-sided decision, according to Clare.
When bachelorette Clare first laid eyes on Dale, she felt it was love at first sight, and quickly lost interest in continuing on with the show. The two made their exit after getting engaged and Tayshia Adams took over for the rest of the season. But what she thought was her fairy tale ending was actually just the start of a rocky relationship. Rumors that Dale was cheating on Clare swirled around and fans were skeptical about whether the couple would last. This time, the fans were right, and Dale confirmed in an Instagram post that their relationship was over. "I wanted share [sic] with you all that Clare and I have decided to go our separate ways," Dale commented. "We appreciate the love and support we've received from so many people, but this is the healthiest decision for both of us at this time." Though Dale was on the record, Clare stayed off social media and made no mention or comment about the breakup for two days.
Clare has now addressed the split publicly, and it seems like she and Dale were not on the same page. “I was made aware of a ‘mutual’ statement at the same time you all were, so I’ve needed some time to really digest this,” her statement reads. “Speaking for myself, my intentions with this relationship have always been very clear, so the truth is I am crushed,” she continued. “This was not what I expected or hoped for and am still trying to process this.” Clare’s statement indicates that she was completely blindsided by Dale’s breakup announcement.
But there are some sources that dispute Clare’s version of what happened. ET has reported on a source close to Dale who claims that Clare knew the relationship was over before Dale revealed the news on social media. "Dale broke up with Clare last week, after their San Diego trip ended. He wanted to release his statement then, but Clare begged him to wait to announce it,” the source claimed. “She told him she needed some time to deal with it herself before the world knew, and he respected her wishes.”
Regardless of when she found out, the breakup is still a devastating blow to Clare who went on The Bachelorette hoping to find love and left convinced she’d found it. Perhaps fans will get a better sense of what went down between Clare and Dale as more details unfold.
