The Best Talents to Use in Loop Hero (Perk Guide) | Screen Rant
While players may be trapped in a world that is constantly being forgotten around them in Loop Hero, they can still learn new traits. Traits are something that can only be accessed through building up the player's base camp. Once they have collected a sufficient amount of supplies, they should be able to build many different buildings.
While all of the buildings offer a positive boon to the player's experience in the loop, one in particular grants a better boon. The Gymnasium. This building will allow players to learn traits that are either specific to their class or available to all three playable classes.
There is a fairly large list of traits available for players to buy. 14 traits can be bought by all three of the classes. Seven belong to the Necromancer, seven to the Warrior, and nine to the Rogue.
Traits for All Classes:
- Awakened Fragment - Gives the player a 2% chance of finding a whole supply sphere rather than a chunk.
- Axis Tilt - Time in the game moves 25% faster.
- Battering Ram - The hero rushes into battle, granting them a 75% chance of stunning the enemy for a full second.
- Blade of Dawn - Each morning at camp, the sword is filled with light, causing its next attack to two times its normal damage against all.
- Blissful Ignorance - Deals the player a full hand of Oblivion cards. When played, these Oblivion cards will heal the player for 10% of their max HP.
- Card-Sharp - Grants the player a 10% chance of keeping a card in their deck after playing it.
- Deep Pockets - Their inventory is doubled.
- Omicron's Technique - The player gains an extra Resurrection charge.
- Treasure Hunter - Grants a 5% chance for a chest to spawn on a dead enemy.
- Second Thoughts - Gives the player a new set of three traits without the cost of those traits.
- Shield of Faith - Killing an enemy grants the player a Stained Glass charge. Which will give them a 20% chance of being protected. Stacks up to three glasses.
- Strong Aftertaste - Players gain a +1.5 damage dealt for every potion they use.
- Supplies - The player will leave 10% of their findings at the camp when they pass through the campfire tile and start a new round.
- Surveyor - Grants a half loop HP boost for each adjacent roadside tile when passed.
Traits for the Necromancer:
- Ambitions of the Dead - One of the Necromancer's skeletons will fully heal after killing an enemy. Its damage and HP will also be increased by 10% until the end of the battle.
- Art of Control - Adds one skeleton to the max amount a player can have.
- Edge of Impossible - Players gain a 20% to exceed the max number of skeletons and summon two during the last summon.
- Horde - Gives the player three strengthened skeletons at the beginning of every loop to help in battle.
- Preparation for a Ceremony - Makes the first two skeletons summoned in a round strengthened.
- Residual Heat - Gives the Necromancer three times their normal loop heal after a skeleton dies.
- Unseen Care - Grants the player a permanent +0.5 bonus to their energy armor for each skeleton.
With these in mind, the best traits for a Necromancer would likely be Ambitions of the Dead, Art of Control, Horde, and Residual Heat. If a player wanted to add a trait that way available to all of the classes the Battering Ram, Blade of Dawn, and Shield of Faith would make good secondary options. While other options in the list may still seem promising, these are the most worth it earlier on.
Traits for the Warrior:
- Article of Protection - At the start of each round, players will gain a Phantom Protection bar that spans 65% of their max health bar.
- Buckler - Every counterattack the player performs restores one and a half times of the loop HP.
- Dominant Mass - The damage a player deals is increased by 20% of their defense value.
- Shield-Master - Players gain a 20% chance to stun enemies when landing a hit.
- Skilled Armorer - Armor is increased by one point for every round.
- Somersault - Gives the player a 35% chance to perform a counterattack when successfully evading.
- Survivalist - The player's HP regeneration is double when their health falls below 40%.
With this in mind, the best Warrior options are Article of Protection, Buckler, Somersault, and Survivalist. If players are interested in adding something from the traits list for all classes, Blade of Dawn and Surveyor would be great options.
Traits for the Rogue:
- Child of the Forest - Gives the player a 75% chance of being accompanied by a ratwolf that will aid in battle.
- Fuss - If a fight has two or more enemies, each enemy will deal 7% less damage to the player.
- Lethal Weakness - Every 10% of health the player is missing will give them a 0.5% chance to deal 1,000% damage.
- Marauder - Fighting three or more enemies in a battle will grant the player an additional trophy.
- Master of Fencing - Grants the player a 10% chance to hit two targets simultaneously.
- Nothing is Sacred - Each kill will heal the player by three HP.
- Old Scars - Each trophy received will increase the player's Max HP by one.
- Picky - Lowers the number of items received on the camp tile in exchange for more trophies.
- Smoke Screen - The player will have guaranteed evades for two seconds after losing 20% of their total HP.
Between these options Child of the Forest, Lethal Weakness, Master of Fencing, and Smoke Screen are the best options available to the Rogue. However, they could also benefit from some of the traits available to all classes. Such as Blissful Ignorance, Deep Pockets, Treasure Hunter, and Supplies.
