RHONY: Sonja Morgan Expresses Shock Over Tom Girardi's Black Eye
Sonja Morgan from The Real Housewives of New York City was shocked to see the recent photos of Tom Girardi with a black eye. The legal issues with Tom and his estranged wife Erika Jayne, who stars in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, have not only caught the attention of fans but fellow Bravo stars as well. In December 2020, Tom was accused of embezzling at least $2 million in settlement money from the families who lost loved ones in the 2018 Lion Air plane crash.
The news of his embezzlement followed a month later after his ex-wife, Erika, filed for divorce after more than 20 years of marriage. In the current season of the Bravo series, viewers are watching Erika cope with her less than lavish lifestyle while also dealing with the backlash of her ex's legal issues. It seems as though fans of the Housewives franchise aren't the only ones keeping up with the Erika and Tom drama.
The Bravo fan page @bestofbravo shared the four photos of Tom, and the RHONY cast member was shocked by the images. "What happened," Sonja commented a few hours after the post was published. The photos in question showed the disgraced lawyer sporting a black eye and looking frail while walking to and from his car with an unidentified woman. Fan's quickly commented on Sonja's statement, adding that "greed" and "karma" caught up to him. Not only were the photos a shock to Sonja and Bravo fans, but this was also the first time Tom has been seen out in public since Erika filed for divorce in November. Even fellow Bravo star and former Summer House cast member Hannah Berner was surprised by the photos.
She commented, "not well, b**ch," referencing one of RHONY alum Dorinda Medley’s infamous catchphrases. While Tom's declining health may be a shock to viewers, Erika probably isn't surprised. The 50-year-old revealed in a recent RHOBH episode that her ex's health had been declining for a while. She believed Tom's 2017 car accident that took place close to their former Pasadena home is the crux of his lingering health issues. In March, Tom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, something Erika admittedly believed he had for a while. As a result of the diagnosis, the 82-year-old was put under a conservatorship, where his brother serves as his conservator.
Bravolebrities are just like their fans, keeping up with the latest gossip in the Bravo world. Sonja clearly keeps up to date with the RHOBH drama and was just as shocked as everyone else when she saw those intense photos of Tom. Maybe she will address the issue with Andy Cohen the next time she is invited back to Watch What Happens Live.
