Death Stranding Players Can Make Norman Reedus Do Motorcycle Stunts
The upcoming Death Stranding Director's Cut released a brand new trailer at Gamescom, which revealed tons of new content and some cool new tricks for Norman Reedus's character, Sam. Death Stranding was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2019, and many fans were excited to learn that the next-gen upgrade for Death Stranding would include brand new content as part of the Director's Cut, which is scheduled to release for the PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2021.
The latest Death Stranding trailer, narrated by the game's acclaimed director and designer, Hideo Kojima, revealed plenty of new content that will be coming to the game. Along with new weapons, music, missions, and other features, the Director's Cut will also include new gameplay elements such as the ability to replay past monster battles. One new feature, however, caught many player's eyes.
The Kojima Productions trailer notes that the Director's Cut will include new ramps adjacent to the game's many valleys and crevaces, which will allow Sam to traverse the world of Death Stranding with ease. However, those ramps are not simply for utility. Kojima points out that, with these new ramps, players will be able to do tricks during their jumps, and they will be able to record their best jumps to share with their friends. The Director's Cut will also feature a new racing feature so players can battle with friends on the game's online race tracks.
These new features add a new level of entertainment to an otherwise dark game. The game sees Norman Reedus's character delivering supply cargo to isolated cities alone except for his Buddy Bot (which is a new addition to the Director's Cut). However, the player must also navigate a treacherous landscape while making these deliveries, including avoiding enemies such as beached things, the MULE cult, and Demens. With how critical it is that the player get across the world of Death Stranding quickly and safely, the addition of new jump ramps is certainly welcome.
Most importantly, though, the tricks that a player can now do while soaring across the world is a nice change of pace from the game's typical fare. Now, players who want to lounge about and explore the game's apocalyptic United States have some entertainment as they freely roam. The new motorcycle jumps also add new endgame content to players who have already managed to beat Death Stranding. With these changes, the next-gen upgrades, and the other new content that the Director's Cut will bring, it seems that Hideo Kojima is set to please fans yet again.
