Brie Larson Shows Off Captain Marvel Physique In New Archery Photos
Brie Larson showed off her physique for The Marvels in new training photos that show the actress practicing her archery skills. Larson will reprise her role as Carol Danvers in the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel. Joining her is Teyonah Parris, who debuted as Monica Rambeau in WandaVision, where her own origins as a superhero began. Iman Vellani will also appear as Ms. Marvel in the sequel after she takes on her own Disney+ series of the same name. Little else is known about the upcoming sequel, save for two cast members who are both in undisclosed roles.
Zawe Ashton, who has appeared in Velvet Buzzsaw and The Handmaid's Tale, will be playing The Marvels' villain, while Park Seo-joon has also joined the film. WandaVision's post-credits scene may have laid the foundation for the upcoming sequel, as Monica Rambeau was seen meeting with a Skrull, disguised as a SWORD agent, who told her that someone in space was eager to meet with her. It's unclear if that person was Carol herself, whom Monica has a complicated relationship with, or even Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury, who is also confirmed to be returning in the film.
Regardless of how little is known about The Marvels, one thing is clear: Larson is ready to face any baddies thrown her way. The actress shared a pair of photos on Twitter of her practicing archery. Larson comments that it's just a hobby, but the photos show off just how toned she is for the upcoming film. Check out the photos below:

Larson has already shown off her training for Captain Marvel 2, indicating that she is fully ready to be back in superhero mode. The actress hasn't appeared in the MCU since 2019's Avengers: Endgame and even then, her role was quite brief. This was explained away by the character, as Carol told the other Avengers that plenty of other planets were dealing with Thanos' Snap without the help of heroes like herself and the earth-dwelling Avengers.
This makes Carol's return all the more exciting - after her debut movie only showed her in the past, The Marvels is set to bring the character into the present of the MCU timeline. Seeing her team-up with both Monica and Ms. Marvel, who is a noted fan of Larson's character in-universe, is an exciting prospect, one that has the potential to be one of 2022's most exciting MCU releases. Of course, there's major competition, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and an unrevealed fifth movie set to release next year. Still, The Marvels will likely continue the overarching plot of the MCU in exciting ways as the storylines of the individual movies begin to converge once again.
