Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fan Builds Realistic 7-Eleven For Wardell
An Animal Crossing: New Horizons player has shared a realistic 7-Eleven store they created for Wardell, a manatee character from the game's Happy Home Paradise DLC. The new design-focused paid DLC has inspired many clever creations from fans, with players sharing their recreations of historic places, video game locales, locations from pop culture and more in Animal Crossing. New Horizons has sold over 32 million copies since its release in 2020, and has one of the most active creative communities in gaming.
While the Animal Crossing: New Horizons base game already encourages players to decorate their island, the DLC Happy Home Paradise makes design the primary focus. Released on November 5th, 2021, the game has the player take on the role of an interior designer, building vacation homes for the game's anthropomorphic animal villagers and NPCs. Customers all have certain requests for their vacation home, and the game has supplied players with a slew of new architectural and design options to help meet their demands. Happy Home Paradise has introduced new features like partition walls, pillars, accent walls and more for players to build with. The DLC also features a store headed by manatee Wardell, in which players can buy items with the money - called Poki - that they earn from the work they do.
Reddit user NymeriasCrossing shared an impressive recreation of a 7-Eleven convenience store this week, which they created for Wardell. The design is incredibly realistic both inside and out, perfectly capturing the convenience store chain. The interior includes all the features you would expect of a 7-Eleven: coffee, Slurpee machines, aisles of snacks, even a security camera system has been placed in the build. The outside is just as well designed, with 7-Eleven signs, a car-filled parking lot, and a row of gasoline pumps for drivers on the go. This entire design expertly utilizes Animal Crossing custom patterns, using them to create the logo, labels for the aisles, the parking lot asphalt, and more.

This 7-Eleven design is a perfect example of the sort of creativity the Happy Home Paradise DLC has inspired in players - while an Animal Crossing player may not want to decorate their own home like a convenience store, when given new space to work with for another character, players are free to build without the caveat of it also being their character's living space. The Animal Crossing community was already incredibly active when it came to creating and sharing their builds, and doing so has become even more popular since the release of Happy Home Paradise. Not only has the release of the DLC sparked more interest in building, it's also done the same for players who create custom patterns within the game - this 7-Eleven design utilizes over 10 of them, each beautifully designed by someone in the game's community.
