Naomi Campbell Rewore an Iconic, Revealing 1997 Look at the Cannes Film Festival
As one of the world’s biggest supermodels from the ’90s and beyond, Naomi Campbell has always been a fashionista. And, as one of the most photographed women in the world, Campbell has become a true reference when it comes to style and elegance.
And, as it turns out, Campbell’s become a reference to herself too!
In her latest appearance at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the supermodel re-wore a dress she had previously debuted back in 1996. The dress, which she wore this second time to the Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premiere on May 15, is a striped black sequined dress with sheer panels.
According to People, the dress was originally part of Karl Lagerfeld’s fall/winter collection for Chanel in 1997.
Looking at the dress now, it’s safe to say the modern and edgy design has stood the test of time.
Campbell, who was styled by celebrity stylist Law Roach, paired the dress with her natural hair in loose waves and a black thong underneath the dress. She also accessorized the look with black pumps, a quilted Chanel handbag and statement earrings. As for glam, the model wore bright pink blush and matching lips.
And while we applaud any celebrity who chooses to repeat an outfit, it’s definitely a rare sight these days. Most recently, Glenn Close re-wore a chic eggshell-colored double-breasted suit to the Ralph Lauren Fall/Holiday 2024 Runway Show in New York City.
“I’m very very proud to be re-wearing this suit that I wore five years ago at the SAG Awards,” Close said on Instagram at the time. “Beautiful, beautiful classic Ralph Lauren suit but this one happens to be covered with tiny Swarovski crystals.”
“I feel like a million bucks and I’m going to retire this suit to my costume collection after this,” she said. Close and Campbell are showing how it’s done!
