Be fab to get TF in in some capacity. He could do with a new focus in life, after losing Helen, and would give 110% for "HIS" club. The fans would trust him to do what was right.
A yes from me. However, if younger fans didn't see TF grace St.Andrews, as a player, they understandably don't get TF & BCFC.
I agree - an offer in say July/Aug - for any kind of ambassadorial post may be welcomed, bearing in mind the great loss Trevor has recently suffered. Helping the healing process, amongst the Blues Family may help in some small way...
For me, he was an absolute genius of a player, and a half decent manager who was ultimately unlucky, and probably cared too much: witness his emotional undoing at Preston. Whereas sb came along, with less baggage, was a proven winner (& mercenary), & WAS a 'lucky' manager.
Whilst TF, as manager, had backing, players, big crowds and owners yet to become truly money/free stadium orientated, and believe the grass was greener & richer elsewhere: West Ham, Cardiff etc. Some rightly point to blowing the Barnsley play off when the tie was barely 25% done, not making the most of his attacking options (Funky, Dele, Nuddy, The Horse et al), but I like to remember the Watford atmosphere/ performance with ten men for a long time, 7 - 0 at Stoke and 7 - 1 at Oxford etc.
Also, at PNE the league had changed the away goals rules that season, previously we'd have been ok...And they broke away & scored, just AFTER Stan hit the inside of the post at 1-1 (2-1 Blues). Such is football, and being a Blues fan.
Pity the Bears, another TF sporting 'love', aren't helping matters. Whenever he ventures back, just for the odd match at least, let's hope Harry's gang puts a smile on all our faces.
