The traders at the bookies set the starting price based on the knowledge that they have, then the price moves with the money staked + knowledge that the traders are gaining through scouring the internet and speaking to sources.
I imagine there are plenty from any number of recent January windows who have turned down moves to lowly Prem clubs if there's are flying high. Plus, we wouldn't sell them on the cheap like we had to with Butland/Redmond/Gray.
