I guess it will depend on what criteria the board are following. For the good things that Moyes brings, he doesn't have Championship experience.
He managed Preston in the old Division One around 20 years ago, but doesn't have experience of getting out of this league.
I don't think he would be the worst appointment, though.

We need someone strong who will take no s**t from the players. We need shape and discipline. Pearson would do for me over Cotterill, he'll want things his way. Cotterill will only get you so far based on his past record, always does well to start with then fades very quickly after.
