I'd always thought the answer to the above question was Carl Francis.

I remember the excitement at Old Trafford on the opening day of the 1982/3 season when it was announced that Francis was playing. We also had Michael Sturridge around the start of the 1980s. I don't believe he ever played in a first class fixture for the first team, although I'm sure I remember seeing him once in a game at St Andrew's. I can only think it might have been the friendly against Tampa Bay Rowdies (drew 0-0) in September 1980, or possibly Joe Gallagher's testimonial against vile in May 1981 (lost 3-6).

My wife and I are both retired so our main form of recreation now is golf. Have done Nefyn ( playing the 9 holes on the peninsula is fabulous ( inc stopping for a pint at the Ty Coch Inn on the way round - just call the games behind through ???? ). Aberdovey & Prestatyn are also good courses in the area.
