Re: BCFC: The Silent Man
barnieeeechoc4Big alarm bells for me was the return of the fabulous coach Craig Gardner. He decided that he was better off away from Birmingham city fc. Things went tits up at his new venture so he then begs to return to us. We say yes Craig come on back. What other club or manager would do this. Anyone that walks away from your club should be gone for good and replaced with someone better.
This is just one small example as where we are as a professional football club.
He was offered a relative promotion, of course, he should take it.
Through no fault of his own he becomes available again so the club recognising his past contribution and close links to the squad they bring him back in - of all the things that have gone wrong at the club this isn't typical or a great example. We have had numerous posts about people complaining of the club getting rid of all staff with a long background with the club - so now they do it and they still get criticised?
Trev came back and Steve Bruce - that worked out ok
They have ballsed up with so much obvious things
I'm not saying he shouldn't have taken his 'promotion' as you call it. I question us taking him back. Are you saying we could have not have improved on Mr Gardner? He decided he would be better off else where. Fair enough. Goodbye.
Trev and Bruce were x players and became managers. That's totally different and not relevant.
