Re: Driving phobia
BluenoseMoblimey that's a bad to be honest....Mario kempesHas anyone on here ever had it....the wife suffers bad with it nowadays too the point she's even nervous when I'm driving on the motorway myself....she's OK driving local within a few miles radius but that's about it if see she's a motorway she breaks out in sweat.....was also speaking to my bricklayer today in the garden who's 59 and is proper bad himself he can't go anywhere outside his comfort zone he won't even look at a motorway.
This seems more common than I thought.
My daughter-in-law's mom developed the same severe phobia after being involved in a minor accident around 3 years ago. She's exactly the same as your wife in that she hardly leaves the house at all apart from the occasional trip to the local supermarket with her husband, but she gets into a right state when she does. As for any further, and particularly motorways, she point blank refuses. And, when any of her family are driving to visit her, she panics and doesn't relax until they arrive safe and sound - and then goes through it all again when they leave.
