Re: Reading

Exactly my point, they can't make you sell a player, because that would create a buyers market wouldn't it?
Remember this is the EFL who once said they just organise the fixtures.
Your point is shit though, because the rules are there and are agreed by the clubs. If a club breaks those rules, then there MUST be a sanction otherwise there's no point having any rules.
Plus, to be precise the EFL did not demand we sold Che Adams. The business plan stated that the club had to complete
"...the sale of registered players which after taking into account the costs associated with any registrations permitted by the EFL, generate a cost saving to the club of not less than £9m to be made up of profit on player sales, a reduction in player wages and/or a reduction in player amortisaiton charges in the 2018/19 season."
The above is quoted from the skeleton argument of the EFL for the business plan hearing.
Bear in mind Dong reckoned he could flog Juke for £13m (as they told the EFL nearly four months after that was plan was instated) then there is an argument that the EFL didn't mean Che at all.
It should also be noted that this business plan was put in place to prevent the club breaking the FFP rules for a second season in a row, which Blues were going to do.
But that's my point Dan, my stance is that the efl would not be able to force you. How can they choose what player to sell and how much you're going to get for him? What if you have no saleable assets?
The ffp rules were also proven flawed once tested too, because they roll over a 3 year period and it is almost guaranteed that if you break ffp in one year, you're likely to break it the following year, hence why they had to come up with this business plan idea.
Without wanting to be arsey, did you read what I directly quoted you from the EFL paperwork?
They’d don’t tell you which player to sell, they just tell you the amount you need to bring in.
And as for the second paragraph - if you don’t punish people for breaking rules what’s the point in having them? Every other club in the division had the right to demand that Blues got their shit together. If the club were stupid enough to break the figures so badly that it was pain for years, whose fault is that?
