Okay let me disappoint you about something else.
If you’re expecting money from new owners to be hosed on Blues… it’s not going to happen.
I don't think the money is important initially, just a feel good factor and improving stuff of the pitch will permeate a different culture through the club.
Coventry and Millwall show that you don't need to spend loads if you're all pulling together and playing to your strengths.
We shouldn't be breaking our neck for promotion immediately (as fans I mean). It'll take 3 seasons to get us up and running as a normal club again, adding to the squad and getting it fit for promotion. Basically what Coventry have done.
It all depends on new owners, I'm not even thinking about Blues until June 11th and the deadline.
It's a huge summer recruitment wise, no doubt about it. This summer is the one Craig Gardner really proves himself.
Will Gardner still have a role under new owners? Usually a new board comes in with their own ideas of who to buy.
I'd say as it stands he's probably the most secure person at the club.
Not sure how happy I am to hear that.
I know I bore on about him but he had literally no credentials for the job when he got it and since he's been in it it's hard to see what he's achieved - a few decent loans notwithstanding. Maybe there's other good stuff going on behind the scenes but its impact has yet to be felt where it matters.
I hope under proper owners he will step up and prove my cynicism to be misplaced.
While he may have had no credentials doesn't he is no good. We have seen the posts today saying get Graham Potter - What credentials did he have when he started in management not that long ago and got a £10M a year contract at Chelsea. When you compare the players he has brought in with what he has had to offer i think he has done a pretty decent job, and not sure what he could have done better.
