Adrian Doherty- the reluctant football star. (2 replies)
Anyway, I was reminded of it today when I spotted a tweet by the book’s author, Oliver Kay, saying that today would have been Adrian’s 50th birthday, had he not died in his late 20s falling into a canal in Amsterdam.
It’s basically a story about a huge football talent, possibly the most talented of all of Man Utd’s class of ‘92, who simply wasn’t that bothered about hitting the big time with one of the biggest clubs in the world, preferring instead, busking in Manchester’s Armadale shopping centre to using the free ticket he was entitled to as a youth player to watch the first team on a Saturday afternoon.
The book is a great read and if nothing else, some might enjoy reading the author’s thread on Twitter

or, indeed, a fairly sizeable sample of the book on here:

RIP Adrian.
