Re: The player
PetebaldwinQBBC2Do you think they’d be enthused by the idea of being coached by England legends or do you think they’d have preferred to stay with JE and his staff?
Will the “Rooney Factor” attract better signings/loans?
I read earlier that Rooney was wanted by Ten Hag/ManU to be part of their coaching set up but decided to see out the job at Derby (loyal!). Clearly Ten Hag rated him, despite his lack of coaching experience or success. Must be the winning mentality maybe?
Anyway, if you were a player who would interest you most in working with?
If I was a footballer and someone said do you want to be coached by Eustace or Rooney, I'd pick Rooney without hesitation. The guy was an incredible player so why wouldn't you want to be coached by him?
Obviously the situation is slightly different if you ask current Blues players who have already built a relationship with Eustace. Some will be sad to see him go whilst others who were struggling for game time will probably be quite happy.
Ultimately, they're professional footballers - dealing with a change of management is a necessary skill that they will have to use over and over throughout their careers.
Why wouldnt i want to be coached by him? Because knowing the game has told me that being a great player has no bearing on a player becoming a good coach.
The best player in the world was here 3 years ago- why would they get starstruck
