A week or so back, Law Enforcement Today reported about former president Barack Obama’s criticism of the so-called “defund the police” movement.

Well, apparently George Soros or one of his handlers got in touch with him and he decided to walk back his comments Tuesday.

Appearing with the most un-funny man on late night television, Trevor Noah on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show¸ Obama had changed his tune by “evolving” and backing down on his comments, calling the activists behind the movement “courageous and media savvy.”

Obama did however continue somewhat tepid criticism of the movement, saying that it could actually alienate Black Lives Matter allies.

While Obama is now praising the movement for being “courageous,” major cities across the country are seeing an explosion in crime rates.

For example, New York City saw the number of shootings in the city more than double in November, according to a report released by the New York City Police Department. Over the first 11 months of the year, shootings have nearly doubled, up 96%.

On the other side of the continent in Los Angeles, homicides are up 25 percent from last year, where the new district attorney, George Gascon has promised to end cash bail, stop prosecuting the death penalty, and end sentencing enhancements for matters such like being a member of a gang.

That will work wonders in reducing LA’s crime rate.

Meanwhile in Chicago, the shooting and murder capital of the United States, murders and shootings are both up more than 50 percent.

That didn’t stop the super-cool Obama telling Noah that he credited the Black Lives Matter activists for pushing for their agenda.

Black Lives Matter has pushed for police departments around the country to be “defunded,” which is code word for get rid of some cops.

However under the face of significant criticism, the term “defunded” has evolved to “reimagined.” It doesn’t matter, it’s the same thing.

BLM has been successful in some cities, in particular New York City, Los Angeles and Minneapolis, where it all began with the death of George Floyd in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department.

“Nothing made me more optimistic during a difficult year than the activism we saw in the wake of George Floyd’s murder,” Obama said.

“I have consistently believed their courage, activism, media savvy, strategic resolve far exceeds anything I could’ve done at their age and I think it has shifted the conversation in ways I would not have even imagined a couple of years ago.”

With that in mind, however Obama said that the slogan does have the potential to backfire.

“That particular slogan in think the concern is that there may be potential allies out there that you’d lose. And the issue always is how do you get enough people to support your cause that you can actually institutionalize it and translate it into laws,” Obama said.

He actually in a rare moment of honesty credited President Trump’s “Make America Great Again” as a slogan that serves better to unite people, along with his “Yes We Can” slogan.

Obama got slammed for speaking out against the “defund the police” slogan by the usual suspects, the far-left wacko contingent in the Democrat party consisting of “the squad.” Obama made the comments during an interview with Peter Hamby on an episode of “Good Luck America.”

After Obama made those comments, far-left idealogue Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) went after Obama on Twitter, writing, “We lose people in the hands of police. It’s not a slogan but a policy demand,” she screeched.

Another Democrat, congresswoman-elect Cori Bush (D-MO) also criticized the former president, saying, “With all due respect Mr. President—let’s talk about losing people.”
