Duty Accomplished in D.C., Send the National Guard back to station
Biden recently stated to our military: : “I will never ever … dishonor you. I will never disrespect you. I will never politicize the work you do.”
The National Guard has been politicized enough—Sir and Madam Pelosi. time to go back to station. Their presence sends one message to the world: the administration is afraid of the people.
With Impeachment trial ending, send National Guard back home.
27 January Senator Cotton wrote an op ed on Fox
Last summer, as left-wing mobs rioted in the streets and threatened to overwhelm local police and even the National Guard, I wrote an op-ed in The New York Times titled “Send in the Troops.” I argued that the president should deploy federal troops, if necessary, to restore and maintain order.
My position was grounded in federal law, based on many historical precedents, and supported by a majority of Americans. But this argument outraged many on the left, so much so that the editor of the New York Times opinion page lost his job for publishing it……
Sen Cotton thanked the troops who assured safety, but “With the inauguration complete and threats receding, now it’s time, yes, to send home the troops,”
I sit on the Intelligence Committee, but I’m aware of no specific, credible threat reporting—as distinguished from aspirational, uncoordinated bluster on the internet—that justifies this continued troop presence. Thus, I believe the rest of these soldiers should also go home to their families and civilian jobs.
The lesson of the Capitol riot is not that we should quarter a standing army at the Capitol just in case, but rather that our security measures should be calibrated to the actual threats.
Senator Cotton Was even handed, took a tough stance after the riots.
6 Jan : Cotton Statement on Violence at Capitol. Senator Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) released the following statement after violence broke out at the U.S. Capitol earlier today:
“Last summer, as insurrection gripped the streets, I called to send in the troops if necessary to restore order. Today, insurrectionists occupied our Capitol. Fortunately, the Capitol Police and other law-enforcement agencies restored order without the need for federal troops. But the principle remains the same: no quarter for insurrectionists. Those who attacked the Capitol today should face the full extent of federal law.
It’s past time for the president to accept the results of the election, quit misleading the American people, and repudiate mob violence. And the senators and representatives who fanned the flames by encouraging the president and leading their supporters to believe that their objections could reverse the election results should withdraw those objections. In any event, the Congress will complete its constitutional responsibilities tonight.”
Several governors did not allow their national guards to be humiliated by being continually politicized and recalled them earlier
The administration didn’t even trust the national guardsmen .
