Five killed when an SUV drove through a crowd during the Waukesha Christmas Parade
A Red SUV drove into a crowd as they were enjoying a traditional Christmas Parade in Waukesha Wisconsin.
At this time, we can confirm that 5 people are deceased and over 40 are injured. However, these numbers may change as we collect additional information. Many people have self-transported to area hospitals. The Police Department has the person of interest in custody. City of Waukesha reported.
The driver taken into custody as a person of interest has been identified as Darrell Brooks Jr, 39 , according to reports form NBC News and the Associated Press.
NBC News: The person of interest in the Waukesha, WI vehicle incident — which has killed 5 and injured over 40 — was fleeing a knife fight at a nearby park before plowing into a Christmas parade, 5 senior law enforcement officials say.
Brooks’, out on bail for $1000 appeared Nov. 5 for charges including reckless endangerment, battery, domestic abuse, resisting arrest and bail jumping. according to Fox News. In July 2020, he was charged with three other felonies – including reckless endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He’s also listed as a Tier 2 registered sex offender in Nevada according to AG of Wisconsin.

What took place in Waukesha today is sickening, and I have every confidence that those responsible will be brought to justice.
